This program is our most popular resident camp. The “Hogan Experience” is rustic living in a remote setting away from the main campus. A Bluestone Hogan is an open-air frame structure with canvas tarps covering all the windows and doors. There are two levels to the Venture Program.
VENTURE 1 is for rising 7/8 graders.
Campers will learn and put into practice a variety of outdoor living skills… including cooking with Dutch Ovens! At least one meal will be planned, prepared, and cooked over an open fire each day of their week at camp. Vespers by campfire light will complete each day.
VENTURE 2 is for rising 9/10 graders and rising 11/12 graders.
Camper groups have the option to take an extended wilderness hike to Barton’s Ridge and enjoy panoramic views on their way to see an old historic cemetery, or paddle seven miles of the Bluestone Reservoir in canoes from Indian Creek to Bertha. In addition, they will experience a meditative “Quest Walk”.
Venture Camps are offered every week of Summer camp, but only during Week 2 for rising 11/12 graders.

(fees Increase by $25.00 beginning May 8th)
